I've been watching the Community Forums for quite some time. Why should I register for an account?

In order to fully utilize the abilities of the somd.com Forums, you must register as a member. Registration is free, and allows you to do the following:

• Post new threads
• Reply to other peoples' threads
• Edit your posts
• Keep track of what you have and haven't read
• Receive email notification of replies to posts and threads you specify
• Send private messages to other members
• Set up a 'buddy-list' to quickly see which of your friends are currently online
• Ignore other members who ignore you
• Purchase member upgrades that help support somd.com, give you extra capabilities and remove ads

To register, you will need to specify a username, password, and a valid email address. Entering your email address will not leave you open to SPAM as it is not revealed to other users. Also, any messages sent to you via email do not reveal your address to the sender in any case. Once you register, the system will email you a validation link that you must click on to confirm your registration. So, please ensure that the email address you provide is valid and working.

If you choose, you may also use one of your Social Media accounts to register. This eliminates the need for you to remember yet another online account. We currently support Facebook, Twitter, Google, Microsoft, Yahoo, Linkedin, and Github.
